― Sarah J. Maas, Empire of Storms
Synopsis :
The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius as war looms on the horizon. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those who don't.
With her heart sworn to the warrior-prince by her side, and her fealty pledged to the people she is determined to save, Aelin will delve into the depths of her power to protect those she loves. But as monsters emerge from the horrors of the past, and dark forces become poised to claim her world, the only chance for salvation will lie in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.
In this breathtaking fifth installment of the New York Timesbestselling Throne of Glass series, Aelin will have to choose what—and who—to sacrifice if she's to keep the world of Erilea from breaking apart.
My Thoughts :
“He was hers and she was his and they had found each other across centuries of bloodshed and loss, across oceans and kingdoms and war.”
First and foremost, I would like to apologize to my reader because I'm not able to provide the review for the first book until the forth book. If I have time later, I'll try to post the reviews, but I cannot promise you anything for that. Thank you for your understanding. And, just a reminder, lot of spoilers and massive fangirling will await you below.
I'm dying. That is it. This book does not disappoint me at all. Sarah J Maas knows how to keep her fans and reader sitting on the edge of the seat by reading this. Thank you Empire of storms for giving the development for most of the character. I'm really grateful. For me, I really love Aelin and how she handles all those people who abandon and doubt her. I MEAN SERVE YOU RIGHT ! She carefully plans everything so it is in motion BECAUSE SHE KNOWS SHE WILL NOT BE THERE TO SAVE HER OWN KINGDOM. There you got it. She IS the self rescuing princess but later in the next book, I hope she will be more willing to actually share her plans with everyone else because I'm tired of having this heart attack every time she reveals her plan to her team. I mean, seriously girl, with this amount of heart attack, it is not healthy. Rowan could actually die since he is already so old. Please have a mercy. By the way, I really like how this book unfolded all the love story too. It give me the closure I NEED for Rowaelin. And it kills me to know how broken Rowan right now, frantically searching for his wife and mate. Be strong, my love. I'm here until Kingdom of Ash is release.
“A court that wouldn't just change the world. It would start the world over.”
Thanks to this book, I does not hate Lorcan as much as before. How he take cares of Elide and makes her feels save makes me want to have my own Lorcan too. But, I support 100% Elide's cold shoulder to him after he betrays the team by summoning Maeve. Lorcan baby, I'm sorry but you deserve them. And for Manorian, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I ship them from Queen of Shadow and now I finally saw the development. Thank you Dorian for making the first move and clearing the tension between you guys. Whew. I ship you guys so hard. And honestly, there are a lot more ships development but let keep my first review short with minimal fangirling.
“Do not mistake my silence for lack of feeling. I have good reason to keep my thoughts to myself”
While reading this book, I wept with joy and cry my hearts out. It hurts me a lot knowing how much Aelin suffers right now. And the fact that I finished this book during her birthday month makes it even worse. But realizing how much army she has and building right now and how hard Rowan and all her friends searching for her, all of this can even makes Thanos cry HARD. Maeve and Erawan will suffers and they will suffer greatly. I'm going to make sure of it.
“Aelin Galathynius had raised an army not just to challenge Morath, but to rattle the stars.”
If you want to read this book, make sure you have read the previous book plus The Assassin's Blade since some of the character and scenes included in this book have a few correlation with that Novella. I think that's all I have and I'm going to resume my crying now. Have a good day and bye bye petals.
